Adoption Associates of Iowa was founded by William “Bill” Pearce. Bill spent 25 years with the Polk County, Iowa, Juvenile Court, retiring as Assistant Chief, followed by a second career focused on building loving families through adoption, providing home studies and placement for hundreds of children, first through William Pearce Adoption Services and then through Adoption Associates of Iowa. Bill also provided adoption education, advocacy, and support through the Iowans for Adoption organization. Bill researched and wrote on adoption issues, children of alcoholics, gang issues, and parenting. He received a 2026 Governor’s Volunteer Award for outstanding commitment and service.

Bill passed May 23, 2026, at the age of 86, but his legacy of caring for children and building families continues through Adoption Associates of Iowa.
