We met when LaVae accepted a teaching job in the community where Anthony had grown up. We attended the same church and that is where we met and fell in love. We got married a little over two years later and we just celebrated our 15th anniversary. Opposites truly attract. Anthony is a quiet natured, relaxed person and brings stability to our home. LaVae is energetic and loves having things going on. We feel like our personalities compliment one another.
We have two children through adoption; Macklyn—age 10, Tasia—age 6. We are unable to have children biologically and are so thankful for adoption. We adopted Macklyn and Tasia as newborns and we love being parents.
Others would describe us as being loyal to each other and our family. Anthony loves to ride bikes and has taught all of us to enjoy it. It is a highlight when we take our bikes to Colorado and bike in the mountains for a few days. We also enjoy camping as a family as well as with other families.
HOLIDAYS AND TRADITIONS
We celebrate Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anthony and I also like to do something unique to make birthdays special. We do not live close to any of our extended family, so being with family together somewhere is always a highlight on holidays. At Christmas we do gifts. Because LaVae’s family lives North, we spend a lot of time with them playing in the snow. We like to meet either Anthony or LaVae’s extended family in Colorado each Summer and go camping together. That is always lots of good times for the cousins and plenty of good memories when it’s over.
We live in the country on the farm but fairly close to small towns. We live a few miles from the private school our children attend. We take them to and from school each day. We also live close to a really neat state park that we enjoy a lot in the Summer. Our town also has nice parks and a great library. In a city, not too far away is a wonderful zoo that we have a membership to and often take our children there.
We do not live close to family, but have lots of friends that we call family. I would call our church group quite close knit and we spend lots of time together with all of them. Although we enjoy going places and doing things. It is even better to come home. There really is no place like home.

ABOUT ANTHONY BY LAVAE
Anthony has an easy-going personality. By nature he is cautious and careful. He thinks things through before he makes a decision. Anthony is a born farmer and does a good job of it. We have been married for 15 years and he has always provided well for our home. He is a careful person and manages well. Most of all, he loves what he does.
Anthony loves biking, swimming with the children, and he loves to sing! He is a part of a gospel quartet and that means a lot to him. He enjoys just about any outdoor activity.
I know that Anthony truly loves his children. He often takes time to play with them and help them with their schoolwork. He also expects them to help out with chores and works with them, while teaching them. My favorite thing about Anthony is that he is sensitive to the needs of his family. Our problems and frustrations become his when we share them. He cares enough to help us through them.
